For proper sealing the embossment (raised seal) should match the opening of the header, the head port is of secondary concern since it is most often smaller than the header opening.
Copper is malleable so the gasket conforms to surface irregularities filling in leak paths, unlike multi layer steel which is too hard for all but the smoothest surfaces. New parts carry a 90 day warranty on workmanship & defects. Some products carry a longer warranty through the manufacturer THERE IS A 10% RE-STOCKING FEE FOR ALL RETURNS. MUST HAVE A RGA # BEFORE RETURNING. ONLY NEW ITEMS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR RETURN and they MUST be in original package (if sent) and re-saleable. The Warranty on new items is through the Manufacturer and you must follow their protocol for exchange/return. Buyer pays all freight charges to return regardless of reason. NO Returns on Fabricated covers or Special Order parts.
